Indonesian rissoles

A rissole is a small croquette, enclosed in pastry or rolled in breadcrumbs, usually baked or deep fried. It is filled with sweet or savory ingredients, most often minced meat or fish, and is served as an entrée, main course, dessert or side dish. Rissole is a snack food in Indonesia. They are commonly filled with bechamel, chicken, carrot, celery, and eaten with chilli sauce or mustard. Not infrequently they are eaten together with Acar Bening and hot chilli peppers.

It has many variations around the world, such as pasteli in Greece, croquant in France and Chikki in India. In parts of the Middle East, brittle is made with pistachios, while many Asian countries use sesame seeds and peanuts.
