Prepare ingredients.
Put chili peppers (at will) into a food processor.

Put the white cabbage pieces onto the steamer.
Cut ends of 250 grams of yardlong beans.
Cut beans into shorter lengths (2 - 3 cm).
Put the bean pieces onto the steamer.
Put also 250 grams of baby carrots onto the steamer.

Cover the steamer well.
Steam for 5 to 7 minutes or until done.
Transfer the vegetables to a bowl.
Unwrap the spices.
Add the spices to the vegetables.

Description

Urap or Urap Sayur is a salad dish of steamed vegetables mixed with seasoned and spiced grated coconut for dressing. It is commonly found in Indonesian cuisine, more precisely Javanese cuisine. Urap can be consumed on its own as a salad for vegetarian meals or as a side dish. Urap is usually found as a prerequisite side dish of Javanese tumpeng, a cone shaped rice mound surrounded with assorted dishes, as well as part of a nasi kuning dish.

1⁄2 white cabbage (1/4-1/2)
250 grams soybean sprouts
250 grams baby carrots
2 cloves garlic
1 onion (or red onion)
2 kencur or aromatic ginger (alternative: 2 cm of ginger)
  chili peppers (at will)
1 large red chili pepper (optional)
5 grams shrimp paste
1 kaffir lime (alternative: 2-3 kaffir lime leaves)
50 tablespoons grated coconut (50-100 grams)
