Tahu kuning
Prepare ingredients.
Put 2 liter of water in acooking pot.
Put also 5-8 pieces of tofu into the water.
Add 1 tablespoon of salt.
Add 1/2-1 tablespoon of turmeric powder.
Add 1 teaspoon of pepper powder.
Heat the pot ...
... and bring the water to a boil.
Reduce the heat to medium.
Cook tofus until they are firm and their skin turns yellow.
Put aside and let cool.
Can be served immediately. But even better if the tofu is fried before serving.
Heat cooking oil in a wok (for deep-frying).
Put yellow tofus into the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown.
Remove fried yellow tofus from the oil.
Pat the fried yellow tofus dry with paper towels.
Serve with fresh chili peppers.


Tahu Kuning is yellow tofu, which is caused by the water of the soaking tofu is given turmeric. Tahu Kuning is a typical food of Kediri (East Java, Indonesia), because its manufacture center is often found in Kediri.

Tahu Kuning has a rectangular shape and is slightly flat. This tofu also has better density than white tofu, so when cut tofu is not easily crushed.
