Prepare ingredients. Put a piece of tamarind to a small bowl and add some water.
Peel 1 cucumber, 1 mango, 1/2 pineapple and 1/2 ripe papaya.
Use cucumber slicer or a sharp knife to cut cucumber into thin slices.
Slice also the pineapple.
And mango pulp.
Cut papaya into small pieces. Put aside.
Put 2-3 tablespoons of roasted peanut, 50 grams of palm sugar, 1 garlic clove (optional), chili peppers at will and 1 pinch of salt onto a mortar.
Grind blend of spices while gradually adding tamarind water ...
... until smooth. The sauce should not be too liquid.
Pour the sauce over the fruit and vegetable chunks.

Description

Rujak is a traditional fruit and vegetable salad dish and is available from street vendors all over Indonesia. This spicy dish consists mostly of fruit and some vegetables and can be eaten as a snack in its own right, or occasionally as an accompaniment to a meal.

  red chili peppers (at will)
